About DVI Ministry

About Divine Influence Ministry

In the spring of 2000, the Most High quickened the spirit of a servant to establish a ministry . . . a ministry dedicated to “ . . . rightly dividing the word of truth” (II Timothy 2:15), unencumbered by the traditions and customs of men that have been overlaid onto the Word of God throughout the years. This ministry was to be driven not by carnal ambition, profit, or earthly glory, but by the plans and purposes of our Lord, Yahweh, the self-existing One.

Name (why "Divine Influence")

While determining a name for this ministry, inspiration was found in the holy scriptures. To the children of Israel, a “name” was determined by much more than what was simply pleasing to the ear. A name defined one’s character and authority. In these last days, mankind lives under the dispensation of grace. Grace is defined as divine influence upon the hearts, or understanding, of the believer. In response to this move of the Holy Spirit, the Divine Influence Ministry was born.

Dedication

Divine Influence is dedicated to the study of the doctrine of our Lord and Savior, Yahushua (Jesus); its ultimate aim is to be an instrument of Love and Truth, that it may be a living example to those who are called by the will of God to walk in newness of mind and spirit.

Language and Terminology

Although the term “God” is commonly used in the English language in reference to our Creator, this ministry strives to develop, through study, a deeper, more intimate knowledge of who our Lord is. To this end, this ministry invokes the names of the Most High from the original Hebrew text, that the believer may come to understand the aspects of His character and authority He chooses to reveal to us through His Holy Word.

In the book of Genesis, the two names in Hebrew most used in reference to our Lord are: Yehovah (God of righteousness that must judge evil), and Elohim (God of covenant). This ministry responds to the need for unbiased and diligent studies of the Word of Yehovah Elohim.

Study Approach

Divine Influence uses a topical approach to the study of the scriptures, cross referencing scripture from both the old and new covenants to rightly divide the word of truth. However, this ministry is aware that some of the studies posted on this site will fly in the face of many widely held traditions and beliefs of the modern, organized church. Though we unashamedly proclaim the truth of God’s Word, we remain humbled by the impossible task of fully understanding all of Yahweh’s great revelations and mysteries.

Transparency and Self-denial

We therefore do NOT claim that the conclusions drawn from these studies are beyond reproof. Therefore, to those who might discover any errors in our studies, we conceal not the pain of our infirmities, for “Faithful are the wounds of a friend . . .” (Proverbs 27:6). Yet this ministry does its utmost best to search the scriptures with patience and diligence, that it might be held blameless on the day of His return.

We hope that you find this site edifying and we encourage you to return whenever you find the need to whet your Spiritual appetite with the Word of Truth. Peace be with you!
